Located on the second floor of the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, THE BROWER is a Crown Heights community collaboration featuring a changing menu of delicious seasonal food and highlighting local businesses from around Brooklyn.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

We seek to use the pursuit of pleasure as a vehicle for positive shifts in

our collective approach towards cooking, eating and overall well-being.

We recognize food as a simple and necessary medium through which we can

profoundly effect change in ourselves and greatly impact the world around us.

Our mission is to offer:

+ seasonally inspired menus

We seek to share to how it feels to eat vegetable-forward food aligned with

the season, how different locally sourced food can taste, and how we feel

when our bodies are finely tuned.

+ whole foods

Our menu focuses on whole rather than processed foods, sourcing meat, fish

and poultry from local vendors we know and trust, buying organic, grass-fed,

free-roaming and cage-free to support and maintain a well-balanced, well-rounded diet.

+ sustainable systems

From the way we source our food, to how we dispose, compost and recycle -

we seek to positively impact the food system and the communities we nourish.

“Look again at that dot. That’s here. That’s home. That’s us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every “superstar,” every “supreme leader,” every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there- -on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.” Carl Sagan
